You Got Questions?

We’ve got answers

1. Do you offer screenings?

Yes. Crowned with Confidence offers free screenings for children at home, daycare centers, preschool programs, and private schools. These screenings help us determine if your child may need further evaluation or if their development is on track for their age.

2. Do you participate with insurance?
Are you in-network?

Crowned with Confidence Speech Language Therapy is in the process of becoming in-network with CareFirst BCBS, Aetna, Wellpoint, Virginia Medicaid and Health Services for Students with Special Needs (HSCSN). We will update clients once we are in-network. In the meantime, we can assist with out-of-network claims and provide necessary documentation for reimbursement.

3. What types of speech therapy services do you
offer for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) children?

We specialize in providing speech therapy tailored to the unique needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing children. Our services include language development, speech articulation, auditory training, and social communication skills. We also incorporate American Sign Language (ASL) into our therapy sessions to support both spoken and signed communication.

4. How do you incorporate American Sign
Language (ASL) into your therapy sessions?

We use ASL as a bridge to enhance communication skills for children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Therapy may include teaching ASL vocabulary, developing sentence structure, and fostering bilingual communication (ASL and English) to meet the individual goals of each child and family.

5. Can my child benefit from speech therapy
if they primarily use ASL to communicate?

Absolutely! Our speech therapy services support language development in both ASL and spoken language, depending on your child’s needs. We focus on enhancing overall communication skills, whether through improving ASL fluency, speech clarity, or developing listening and auditory skills.

6. Do you work with children who have cochlear
implants or hearing aids?

Yes, we have extensive experience working with children who use cochlear implants, hearing aids, or other assistive devices. Our therapy focuses on maximizing auditory and speech outcomes while supporting other communication methods, including ASL, as needed.

7. What is the age range for children you serve?

We provide therapy for children of all ages, from infants and toddlers to school-aged children and teens. Early intervention is key, but we also work with older children to help them achieve their communication goals.

8. How do you tailor therapy to meet the
needs of each child?

Each child receives a personalized therapy plan based on their unique communication goals, hearing levels, and family preferences. We conduct thorough evaluations and collaborate with families to create an approach that fits their needs, whether focusing on speech, ASL, or a combination of both.

9. Do you offer parent or caregiver training?

Yes, we believe in empowering families to support their child’s progress. We offer parent and caregiver training to help you learn strategies for fostering communication at home, including ASL instruction and tips for integrating therapy goals into daily routines.

10. Where are your services available,
and do you offer teletherapy?

We provide services in-person throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and offer teletherapy for families who prefer remote sessions. Teletherapy is a convenient and effective way to receive high-quality speech therapy from the comfort of your home
